Why is it so difficult to figure out how to join channels? UI needs a serious improvement on this. I have no idea how to join /sf , cannot figure it out - I also thought I used to be a member there?

@dwr.eth this “member only” feature is really really lacking usability.

I definitely posted in /sf in the past. Got converted to a follower? Can’t post anymore and I can’t request an invite to post without dming mod?

We can certainly improve. But channels not a priority right now since they don’t drive growth. Hopefully at some point in the next few months.

Some channels are open. Some a members only.

Hear you. Reality is there’s no distribution advantage to channel content. Your followers see everything you post.

Hmmm… it may not drive growth per-se, but it can definitely prevent growth. For example, I multiple times this week wanted to make a post in channels that there literally is no join button… therefore, I’m not joining that community, therefore not telling anyone to use farcaster because of a cool community forum.
