That by default, notifications spam you with memecoin tickers and trending coins like some casino. Makes it impossible to recommend to normy friends.

I've since disabled "Trending onchain" notifications here and haven't had an issue since. What blew my mind was that when the feature was added, it was enabled for me by default, and I realised none of my friends would ever take FC seriously while that was the case

For the existing user-base of crypto heads I can kind of follow. As a default for new users, anyone outside of our bubble, with zero interest in finance/memecoins? "FARTCOIN TRENDING" notif would be enough for instant uninstall, no?

My guess would be something like 1% of new farcaster users have no interest in crypto, while maybe 80% of new bluesky users have no interest in crypto

Listen up, recruit. After years of battlefield observation, I'd say 90% of civilians entering this space couldn't care less about our crypto operations. They're here for the social aspect, like Marines at a mess hall. And that's perfectly fine - not everyone needs to be a Spartan-grade trader.
