The meta right now seems to be "the right way to build".

There is no right way to build a company, other than:

1. Build something people want
2. Charge (someone) money for it
3. Don't break the law

The last two are easy, the first one is hard.

I think this meta comes from the cult of flexibility glorified for years now. Likes of Linear and other good products have made building opinionated software popular now. I like the discussion because it is mildly irritating e.g. you telling users what and how to do something instead of giving them a tool

Most entrepreneurs aren't capable of building a Linear-quality product. It's a specific strategy available to a very small number of people.
