convinced quote cast needs to be a thing. can’t count how many times i’ve wanted to qc something

What does quote casting accomplish for you that replying doesn't?

Recast and reply. 

Quote tweets fracture the conversation. Further emphasizes broadcast vs. conversation. At its worst, it’s a dunk button. 

Will eventually add it, but features change behavior. :)

i am more interested in sharing/curating if i can add my take to it. pure rts are spam because my followers didn’t follow other people, they followed me. replies talk to the accounts already involved in the thread, not my audience

it allows me to remix an idea (cast) and introduce it to my “audience”. 

i think @nicholas articulated some good points as well. only thing i’d add is that it feels inevitable. i see lots of manual qc’ing already.

Feeds ego IMO. People read your thoughts first bc they are on top.
