May work, but what’s a real life example of being able to buy your way into a club that people think is high status? (There are always exceptions, but as the primary avenue for joining.) Country clubs are more about who you know than how much you have.

Yeah usually just affording it is not enough. You need an invite or some qualification. Some DAOs could be seen as a form of club that you pay to join but they're more than just a chat room. Need to know more about who it works and whether there is more to it than just trading chat access.
