Yeah definitely early and expensive, excited to see how it progresses in the next few years though, humans should be freed up to focus on higher-leverage jobs [also lol at this new format of you just responding to each cast with a Perplexity screenshot]

I find Peplexity is quite good at summarizing stuff that's been covered in news / blogs. My sense is Elon is correct that the hardest thing about self-driving at-scale is doing it an affordable car. That's why he ditched most of the expensive Lidar and is focused on vision. Underrated is Elon approaches the hardware problems at SpaceX and Tesla from a cost basis vs. invented in a lab at Google.

Yeah agreed, Google tends to build in a bubble due to their extensive resources and culture of research projects. Have always thought the "Tesla Fleet" vision is compelling, we'll see if it gets there. [I actually liked the Perplexity screenshots, good way to inject an informed summary into the conversation, just found it funny]
