Looking for people who are frustrated with the changes and new direction for channels. Last week, we got a lot of good feedback from people happy with / excited about the changes. See below. Now I want to highlight what's still not working for people. Specifically: 1. What's frustrating? 2. What would make it better? https://warpcast.com/dwr.eth/0xcf622e07

I guess I’m just disappointed that there isn’t a viable crypto native solution for this. Gating channels and manual approvals feels very web2. I feel if we’re going to gate people and increase friction we should be doing it in a way that pushes decentralised ID or Sybil resistance forward. Especially if the short term goal is not to onboard the mainstream, then you have a very crypto native crowd that should be capable of handling such a solution. Something like GitHub, BrightID or EAS attestations that this person is human and/or a quality caster.

There are plenty of channels gating with crypto? @hyperbot and @notabot come to mind Proving humanity != you’re going to be a good member of a community?

Seems to me there are two issues at play bot spam and human farming. You’re right that proving humanity doesn’t solve the latter issue. But I still think there’s scope for a more crypto native solution for quality community membership. What if you had attestation networks? I.e hypothetical /warpcast and /farcaster have a trust relationship (trust being the basis of the current system) . The Channel owners trust each other and their approach to selecting community members. Merkle develops an EAS schema standard. If the channel owner of /warpcast manually approves someone to join an EAS attestation is made of that approval. Channel owner of /farcaster can automatically admit members on the basis of being attested members of /warpcast Automatically admitted members are attested to differently to differentiate people who have been directly vetted vs people who have a proxy vouch. That way you can split them out of your membership base if a sister channel goes off the rails.
