The Meta AR glasses are cool until you find out that they are $10K and you can't buy them.

Say what you want about the Vision Pro (they 100% botched Day 1 content and getting developers to build), it's $3K and available for sale. Expect v2 and v3 to get cheaper and lighter.

You're not going to beat Apple by shipping cool concept videos with journalists.

I think they're totally different products, Meta is leaning into AI way more than Apple (so far) and I wouldn't discount the fact that Meta already has the Ray-Bans out in the wild (which are extremely underrated)

Apple has never been good at services. Ever.

Apple has ChatGPT and Anthropic apps. They are a platform company.

Zuck is smart. He realizes that even with the best AI, if he's downstream of the hardware / OS, his business is vulnerable to Apple's "privacy" whims.

That said, thinking Apple is somehow weak in a era that values access to cutting edge (on-device!) silicon seems... 🧐

My original point is the $10K demo is not a sign of strength.
