We're *previewing* some upcoming changes so people 1) can understand and 2) provide feedback.

These changes are not launching yet. It will be a couple weeks. There will also be a bunch of communication to channel owners.

Only thing that wasn't clear to me was the purpose of following a channel now if you're not a member. Do you have to follow in order to read?

Yes, think of follow as subscribe to the content in my feed

1. Home feed is still algo
2. Algo will roughly weigh membership the most, following next, from a person you follow but a channel you don't last.

Oh, if that's the case, doesn't it still have the narrow-casting effect from the feed perspective? 

Or can they be read if shown in the feed but you just can't go directly to the channel to read it in there?
