Do you think the Executive should have the ability to put up blanket tariffs like this by claiming a trade deficit National Security 'Emergency'? Imo it's a clear overreach of Executive power (which has been ongoing through "National Emergencies" for decades) that Congress ought to finally reign in.

I actually don't have developed opinion on whether should be executive or require Congress. Always supportive of a SCOTUS ruling on something like this, though.

Right now there's a push to override this in Congress. We saw the Senate pass a rebuke of the Canada tariffs yesterday (seems dead on arrival in the House), but I'm seeing an increase of more GOP appetite of reigning this in, even in the House, after yesterdays announcement.
