Users with priority mode turned on, like priority mode. Users without the power badge, don’t like priority mode and want more visibility to users with priority mode turned on. Making power badge more permissive, increases spam. Makes everyone unhappy (except the spammers) Solve for X.

is there a "social graph threshold" for users to show up in priority? i.e. number of people you follow that need to follow them before they show up? 99% of my non-priority replies are spammers (aka it's working), but on the off chance there is a genuine reply there, they usually have >5 of my friends following them.

That’s a reasonable improvement. cc @cmlad.eth

I'd also be curious what % of non-spammy users join through a friend (my guess is most?). If they join and immediately follow the 5 ppl they know and then get a follow back, and I follow those people, I'd want to see them in my priority mentions too. Possible way to boost new users without compromising quality.

We're working on improved notifications for invites. But a lot of invites are word of mouth and people download on their own. Also spammy users do a lot of inviting, too

yeah good point re downloading. I'd think that regardless those new users would still mutually follow their friends, but maybe those friends would get the follow notifs filtered out. re spammy users, I would think that could be filtered out if using the social graph—because I don't follow users I find spammy
