What are your top near-term requests for improving programmatic direct casts?

Common requests:
1. Read APIs

(Assume full interoperability / decentralization is on the roadmap, but for later this year.)

What is the ideal read API at a high level?

1. being able to get all historical messages in a chat
2. getting all messages from both parties live

MVP: i want to get every message that you send me (from this point on)
MVP+: i want to get every message that you send me or i send you (from this point on)
ideal-ish: i want to be able to fetch all of our historical messages in our DC from before this point in time and anything from this point on that either me or you send.
group chats would be sick. 
would be awesome to know if a message is a reply to another message.
