yes but with three additional caveats: i think poker is v unique given that the intrinsically financial (risk) nature of it requires you to concurrently train and master the emotional part of it in an integrated way. i'm not explaining it great here but ya. (poker with play money is nonsensical as a concept to me so pls don't bring that up lol) the other is that no matter how much you play and practice, there's a fundamentally different level you unlock by just studying and mastering poker math/statistics. this is what determines the base level physics of the game. being able to actually calculate the exact odds of things in your head gives your game a real and solid grounding. online vs irl: these are two different skills. there's translation but also significant variation re reading others
