My work ethic seems to comprise three core values

- sense of responsibility
- mediocre standards
- resistance to futility

Net effect: I underpromise but deliver,* except when revealed futility makes me back out of commitments

* I sometimes underdeliver, but rarely overdeliver except by accident. But simple delivery often looks like overdelivery when most people overpromise and underdeliver

It wasn’t a carefully planned and edited essay. Zero QA or complex rewrites. It was just a single-sitting brain dump. So are most of my hit posts

The heavily worked pieces almost never do well

That was more effort and quality control. Still mediocre content but more polished.
