A quiet blow to the wallet: BMW takes revenge for tariffs by raising prices for sports coupes

BMW has raised prices for the 2-Series and M2 coupes without making any official announcements. According to updated information on the manufacturer’s website, the increase ranges from $1,600 to $2,750 depending on the version. No updates to the equipment of the models have been recorded.

The price increase coincided with the introduction of a 25 percent duty in the United States on cars manufactured outside the country. The BMW 2-Series and M2 models are assembled at a plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and are fully subject to these tariffs. 

Among the affected models:

BMW 230i and 230i xDrive increased in price by $1,600 (129 thousand rubles);

M240i and M240i xDrive — by $2,100 (170 thousand rubles) and $2,750 (222 thousand rubles), respectively;

M2 increased by $2,700 (218 thousand rubles, according to the current exchange rate).
