Recently, posts began to appear on social networks criticizing BMW for providing software updates that, according to the authors, no one needs. However, these accounts have their own goals - gaining likes and comments, using resonant topics to generate income. BMW offers its customers over-the-air (OTA) updates, which can be purchased in full or on a subscription basis. These updates include map updates, improved camera features (such as recognition of stationary speed cameras), and other features such as customized sounds for electric vehicles or adaptive suspension. Like any other company, BMW strives to increase its earnings. It's important to note that the company has been experimenting with digital shopping for a long time. Back in 2015, owners could use the iDrive 5 infotainment screen to install free navigation updates, contact the concierge or renew certain services. Two years ago, the company even offered discounts on OTA updates in some markets….
