A new logo and brand identity for Sandisk by ELA Advertising in New York. What are your thoughts on this? We don’t store data in spinning disks anymore. I guess the clever half moon D had to go. I do mourn the nice serif font logos as they go, though. Anyway, the new logo looks like a printed circuit board. So it works at a technical level.

The forms of the cropped S and rotated A are an interesting beginning, however the N and D lack the same form language. The N isn’t wide enough and lacks the same angles. And the D lacks any serifs (serifs which likely only exist to aid the legibility of the cropped S). It is a worthy update but I would have asked the design team to keep pushing those characters!
