"default" pop culture phenomena first order: why ghibli? what about it created such stickiness? local memetic origins? second order: what about the ghibli motif has such emotional resonance? why do we see ourselves in it? identify with it so strongly? third order: human experience as the root of emotional and memetic resonance. why is ghibli regarded as so "human" even amongst its craft? how does even its imitation feel so... intimate? why does it retain its "je ne sais quoi" despite intense analysis and scrutiny? fourth order: ghibli studios is retired, so what is the future of the "indescribably relatable"?

Yes. Fascinating to me. Perhaps some of it is due to Miyazaki’s ability to seed our imagination. It strikes me that most of the imagery is stylistically correct but lacks the extreme creativity of the source. Perhaps our minds associate the visual style with a place setting of sorts for pure imagination. The AI stylized images as primer for what is yet to come. Our unfulfilled imagination desiring satisfaction as enough reason to enjoy what we see.
