sorry for a dumb question, but is talent protocol supposed to be taken seriously?

i spent a month nominating people i considered invaluable for build, which is somehow(?) connected to this... and  now we get what... spinning wheels for likes and recasts? 

i mean, if it's for fun so be it, but i had high(er) hopes :(

i am not that pessimistic - there's still so much to be thankful for here, so many people genuinely working towards a better social networking.
