One thing I've had to accept is that most people just don't realize risk-taking isn't optional for growth - it's a prerequisite. There are no safe ways. The risk IS the profit margin.

i agree, but i also think there are paths that come off as risky to some and don't to others (for a good reason, e.g. due to having specific domain knowledge). the problem arises when these people don't pursue a subjectively low-risk path due to the mantra above and instead needlessly look for subjectively high-risk alternatives.

very well put, and i agree the secondary exploration in this is how much of a “high risk” is made up multiple “low risk” scenarios people never take efforts to overcome
