BlackRock CEO Larry Fink has said: "The biggest issue for me—and I say this to every governmental leader I see worldwide—what the world is missing today is hope. I see more fear than any time in my business career." This is why ideas like @dryden praxis excite me.

The cost of decentralization is that power is shifted from formal leadership to opinion leadership Ironically, opinion leadership is more concentrated than formal leadership across projects, and will lead to a greater centralization of power in the industry

For the record — I’m not 5’6, I own no balenciaga suits, and I‘ve worn the same black sneakers (mm replicas — thin sole) since college. Someday people will get mad at you and make stuff up to tell Mother Jones, perhaps.

Early illustrations are easier to design this way — organic forms are too intricate. Interesting that this was your takeaway, I’ll think about how we can visually telegraph our philosophy without insane cost.

The "commitment to move" from Praxis is really interesting. Don't know the details, but can guess: - Lock $$ in contract, receive tokens - Pool $$ with others in your society - Sovereign can claim a % if they make a deal with you - If you do not move after the deal, your whole stake gets allocated to the pool

Note: this is NOT arguing that Praxis is somehow logically inconsistent or anything like that. Praxis never claimed to be fully defined by a single word or commandment. Rather, it's an illustration of the principle that "one commandment" is actually not what people want.

To take one example, let's briefly pick on the new city project Praxis. Praxis defines its primary virtue as "vitality". On its home page it says: "EXCEPTIONAL MEN AND WOMEN SEEKING MORE VITAL LIVES"

Good thread. TLDR: one commandment is an oversimplification, but a useful oversimplification. One way to think about it: when you pitch your community to a new recruit, how do you describe it? Culdesac: car-free Kift: van life Praxis: vitalist Note what this is *not*. It's not an economic pitch. It's a values pitch.
