Anybody want to meet in Taipei early Jan (1/1-12) to chat? May be a long shot because I don’t know anyone in TW—but please DM if you want to chat or know someone who does

We are not out of the woods yet; we may have just walked in. Inflation is becoming increasingly more broad-based and sticky: both in goods/services and wages. There may be more pain ahead for longer. Please be careful. https://i.imgur.com/G8efuOt.jpg

I don't understand why crypto for remittances hasn't been a success. Can someone explain? It seems like a natural solution to a painful problem, yet it hasn't really gotten traction, even over many years. Why? Network effects of MTOs? Regulatory hurdles? Crypto seems complex? https://i.imgur.com/D5Tb7eK.png

The two fundamental values I want to see in new countries are: 1. Safety 2. Abundance We don’t have a livable country if you don’t have safety. And if we aren’t doing this to get to post-scarcity, what are we even doing? Here’s a spec for both: https://www.zaneausten.com/p/cities-that-pay-your-rent

I was once obsessed with working hard. But you can only work 80 hours a week before you top out. Now I'm obsessed with finding the most impactful work to do.

A safe society is a thriving society. It's a collection of people who are able to trust and rely on each other. The future of network states is to create not just new societies, but safe ones.

How to build a post-scarcity society for 50k people 1. Dramatically deflate living costs (LVT, prefab, automation, land improvement, energy investments) 2. Build a sovereign wealth fund day one. Citizens commit capital, SWF hires the best allocators, generates annual payouts like endowments

GN Journaling every day is hard. Recently I’ve just been taking a photo every day and putting it in Notes app. Feels like the right balance.

I am starting to step outside the matrix of billion-dollar businesses. Those generally fit to a VC’s economic structure needs and not an entrepreneur’s wants. IMO an entrepreneur has a log utility of wealth. Small biz has much higher relative EV when taking log utility into consideration.

GA Have you reconditioned yourself from a somewhat negative mindset to a positive one? If so, how did you do it?

GA Thinking is invigorating even though it takes energy to do it Think of the ways people describe having new ideas: “spark”, “illuminating”, “brain blast” New ideas inspire you to do more Dopamine related to motivation, not joy

The "commitment to move" from Praxis is really interesting. Don't know the details, but can guess: - Lock $$ in contract, receive tokens - Pool $$ with others in your society - Sovereign can claim a % if they make a deal with you - If you do not move after the deal, your whole stake gets allocated to the pool

Reading through The Praxis Master Plan (just posted). Commitment-to-move is a great innovation: https://www.praxissociety.com/master-plan https://i.imgur.com/hqKowhG.png
