@droroave My mother yelled at me my whole life, never spoke to me calmly. I grew up quiet and uptight. She could hit me on the head, grab me and pull my shoulders and arms. When I cried, she would yell even louder, “Don't you cry! I don't give a shit about your tears!”. My dad never hurt me, but he didn't protect me from my mom either, my mom used to take it out on him, but he kept silent and tolerated it. My mom used to talk about my friends in front of me, and when I met her, she used to be nice to them, she didn't have and doesn't have any friends. She insulted me in public, she could show me off, like, look, I have power over her.
