Its very hard to communicate this point to patients. A physician who has treated thousands of variations of a pathology is a different breed than one who just writes papers about them having barely seen any. Social media thankfully has been a leveler in this regard, but its still a misconception that needs attention. I would trust @farmerboy with my health over any physician at Harvard or Stanford or Hopkins any day. He will recognize it near instantly, with doing less testing, less costs and get me home and well faster. https://x.com/MichaelMindrum/status/1912505268623069448

Dr. Mehta is a great example of an excellent practicing physician running a private practice, doing 9000+ prostate radiation cases vs just writing about them. https://warpcast.com/dromar.eth/0xbf83a268

đź’Ż "No plan survives first contact with the enemy" and "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face." Research is like an intro physics textbook where frictionless planes exist: it is, at best, somewhat descriptive of the real world but often completely worthless. I say this as someone who 99% of the time practices evidence based medicine
