Outside of white blood cell count, hemoglobin and platelets, the rest of the CBC is pretty much ignored by most physicians unless it has some overt abnormality. Yet, a few studies are showing relevance of understanding the ratios of immune markers to have prognostic relevance. 

One example is the monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) has been associated with poorer outcomes with coronary artery disease.
