Boom just completed their second test flight today. I’ve always questioned the commercial supersonic business model…but I love that they are pushing boundaries! https://x.com/boomaero/status/1828206164779147479?s=46&t=OsfD-3bNeA-GqsAUkpCuog

I met Blake a couple of times in the early days and discussed Boom. Vastly ambitious project, and I was worried that either COVID or the end to the Rolls Royce engine partnership would put an end to it. Glad to see they pressed on (even though I’m also on the fence about commercial viability)

Major props to him and the team. I remember hearing about the Rolls Royce partnership ending. I thought for sure that was a death knell. So glad to be proven wrong! I hope they prove me wrong about the commercial viability too.

Same. Amazing to see their perseverance. For me the A220 and what Boom is doing is probably the most innovative and interesting happenings of aviation. We’re in the ‘iPhone stages’ of wide body long haul crafts with iterative improvements, but with Airbus ending the A380 program it’s unlikely big leaps will come there.

What do you admire about the A220?
