This is my friend Kirra and probably my favorite person to photograph of all time. I met her over a decade ago at a bar by my place in Brooklyn and I was trying to flirt with her and stuff and we ended up going to this after party and hanging until dawn. At some point I found out that not only did she have a boyfriend, but he was actually a friend of mine. I would run into her from time to time after that but we weren't really friends or anything until I got hired to shoot this party and she was there. Someone had spiked her drink and I ended up getting her the fuck out of there and in to bed before anything bad happened to her. After that we became actual friends and one night her and her girlfriend came over at like 2am and we did a photo shoot on my couch that ended up inspiring my book Instaxxx. A year and a few shoots later she actually moved across the street from me and we started shooting all the time and I have so many photos of her that I love.

The last time we took photos was in 2022. Both of our lives changed dramatically around then. I got wifed up and hurt my back and started living a much more chill life. She went through a terrible break up, found a new partner and left the city. We hadn't even talked for over a year until the other day when she texted me out of the blue. She was moving back to Brooklyn, but in the meantime I left and not sure when I will see her again, but I know we will make some more art one of these days...
