Roman Storm is an open source developer. On August 23rd 2023 at 6am with his 3-year old daughter asleep in the house, he was awakened by a fully armed SWAT team with rifles out. They cuffed him and took away his daughter. His crime: publishing open source privacy code. If found guilty Roman faces the prospect of multiple lifetimes in prison. If found guilty is any open source developer safe. If found guilty what does this say about our 1st & 4th amendment protections in America. Listen to his story & you tell me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFhe9kSbLGs

In any case, what can Tornado Cash be used for except trying to hide illegal activities? Seriously curious

In my opinion it shouldn't matter if the only use is for illegal activities even though there's perfectly valid privacy reasons to hide your money. Publishing code no matter what the outcome of running the code is should be legal under the first amendment.
