Honestly wish we had more cobblers. My old cobbler retired and now I need to find a new one.

Sort of. From my one anecdotal experience in Anacapri: My wife and I went to this legendary guy Antonio Viva who made us both great sandals. His son was there wearing Adidas shoes and I asked him if he was learning the ways of his family business. He gave me a hard no. Meanwhile, Antonio's apprentice is a very nice kid from Bangladesh who speaks very poor Italian and zero English. Lost arts of craft like masonry and cobblers which have relied on apprenticeships have started disappearing. Particularly from one generation to the next. Which is a sad reality of the post industrial world we are living in.

As long as you want to do one thing really well, care about it, you can aspire to do anything ☺️

it’s a very profitable endeavor if you have the right product and audience. my dad was one of the best with clients like Sly Stallone, Dolly Parton and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Yes. They are on socials too. This is a favorite although don’t know if a clog maker is considered a cobbler https://youtu.be/vbwEkDQw1i4?si=6HSeDQThaBfzK-k8
