Developer content marketing feels increasingly untrustworthy. I ignore most open source projects unless they come recommended by someone I trust, solve an immediate pain, or are undeniably popular. This didn’t feel like the case a few years ago.

i increasingly think “write your systems from scratch” is good advice

not because some libraries and frameworks aren’t worth the tradeoffs, but because most developers don’t even consider them.

think about everything between your IDE and the transistor for a minute.
