Researching Hilma af Klint and the origins of abstract art.

This work is from 1907, i.e. 4 years before Kandinsky’s Composition V, which for a long time was thought by many (including Kandinsky himself) to have been the first abstract painting.

I wish she could see us loving her art now, although I don’t think it would make a difference. She knew, ya know?

Her art continues to inspire and resonate with so many, even though she may not be here to see it. A true testament to the lasting impact of her work.
