Need metrics on frequency / depth of reorgs by chain, or a framework that could theoretically handle this kind of inquiry

BigQuery not the preferred tool if other, more direct methods are available

'canonical reorg' dataset is tricky -- unless you collect data from multiple nodes and aggregate it, you'll only capture the reorgs experienced by one specific node, which could be very different from what others experience. the longer the reorg, the more likely it is to be 'canonical'

So it's still insightful to look at it from a single node perspective, but I would be cautious on how I use this data -- FWIW for Mainnet in the last 7 days, one of our node seen 160 reorgs with avg. of 2 blocks, you can dm and I can sample some other chains if its helpful
