Just loaded a 16 week sub-2:40 marathon training programme into my Training Peaks Calendar. 

Cape Town Marathon 20 October. 🤝

Omg! Incredible! I can hold such pace for 10 meters only!🙈

Haha. It’s all relative. I have been running my whole life.

I do quite a lot of speed work. In this particular case I did a lot of very long sessions specifically aimed at my goal marathon pace. 

In order to get faster you have to do speed sessions. @alor has built a great tool which gives a great mix of speed sessions and easy runs for any goal you have in mind. I would definitely check it out.

I run since 2011, but my pace is 5.50' per km.
