In the past, we seemed to automatically equate DAOs with democracy. Many DAO organizations immediately celebrated their democratic characteristics, but most naturally died out without self-reflection or transforming to survive. Fortunately, members in Nouns had enough capacity for reflection and correction to bravely hit the pause button, examine the unquestioned view that "DAOs are inherently democratic," and reconsider appropriate governance forms.
