What if we focused more on what @RepAlGreen said and not how he said it?

@TVietor08 @RepAlGreen What is said is important! How he said—in courageous protest...speaking truth to power in the halls of power— it is also important. It helped the message break through and actually reach voters!

The negativity in this case being the decision to disrupt the speech, I assume?

One could argue MTG disrupted Biden’s state of the union, so it’s a tit for tat, but all my liberal friends seem to be in complete denial of the country’s choice vs making the best of it 

The inability to move on, work together, find common ground is really crippling our nation

That said, judged on their own partisan terms, some of these moments are more effective at landing a punch, or raising an issue's salience, than others.

Green's interruption was particularly useless because: the moment in Trump's speech did not make his message self-explanatory; no one heard what he said, since Republicans drowned him out; and because Speaker Johnson had him removed so quickly.

It's not just MTG, Republicans have been doing it for years. And one party is unlikely to unilaterally disarm for the sake of the broader system absent universal reform.

This is just one manifestation -- Democrats impeached Trump twice (the first of which was questionable, imo); Republicans treated Obama as if he was illegitimate (Trump led the way on that) and refused to even vote on his Supreme Court nominee.
