i read in one of the blogs on coding practices that it’s a good idea to always include units in variable names when they represent numbers. i don’t know, it just kinda stuck with me.

for ex: instead of timeout = 10, use timeout_in_secs = 10.

I do this but then I hash the variable names out of spite for future me

So timeout_in_secs becomes 85a03125728d8cd4fe15cb76fa85aa10

future proof dev. joying life of bugs, phd on hot hot fix in prod

no stress but i like my code to be readable :)
