Has anyone been to either the Azores or the Canary Islands? Worth a dedicated trip?

Many times to the Canary Islands (specifically Tenerife) for the SCUBA diving, which is incredible there! Look for Paradise Divers in Salvaje if you go.

The local food and wine is also great, especially in the north. I'd stay away from Playa de las Americas as it's too touristy.
