Tabletop

Unabashed gaming geek. RPGs, board games, and exploring the intersection of AI, blockchain, and the pen & paper. 

First, I’m focusing on /tabletop related projects and helping @ispeaknerd.eth in growing his nerdy empire. Expect me to post there with regularity.

I have been heavily been playing board games since 2017, gaming every week and attending World Boardgaming Championships (WBC) for 4 years now. 

I have been playing D&D since I was 8 years old (so, coming up on 42 years now). I have played every edition (including adjacent stuff like Pathfinder and DCC), I play tested (and dropped out of play testing) 4th edition, have played (and won) D&D tournaments (yes, those are a thing), and have been a DM for over 25 years.

The truth is - I don’t know if there is an audience for it here on WC, or even in the NFT space in general…but I want to explore and create.  I'm looking for co-founders. 😉

Channels - 

I think we should create a meetup for channel owners, helping each other to answer “how do we make channels into destinations?”

Host conversations with topics ranging from:

Growing your channel, community building, creating a content plan, community rituals, developing a plan to monetize a channel (this can take MANY forms, not just memberships), podcasts, video creation, and marketing.

We’ll also do:

1. channel / business pitches.
2. Provide constructive feedback from fellow creatives and builders.

We could run the first one, and see if it makes sense to do more and with what frequency.

First topic and meeting will be about creating a content plan. @dwr.eth says we need interesting content. Let's start with that.

Founders

...and my last idea in this thread that I'm casting out into the world - I would love to find /founders interested in re-creating a decentralized social network for gardening and small homesteaders.

This was my previous startup (which I shuttered in 2016). I had grown it to 55K members, but it wasn't getting the traction I needed to continue fundraising.

I narrowly missed getting into Techstars Austin (we were in the final 24 teams that flew in for in-person meetings).

I do think there is increasingly a place for niche networks, and I still love the idea of a hyper-local marketplace (not an easy one to grow, because it requires a lot of local participation).

I have still a ton of content from Earthineer.

Separately, I was involved in a video platform - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1511377012/steader-skills-for-abundant-living?ref=nav_search&result=project&term=steader&total_hits=1

I closed that down as well (due to my wife's health issues, I couldn't dedicate the time needed to grow it), but there is a lot of video that we could negotiate the rights to use and resell.

So, if anyone is interested in spearheading something similar, reach out. 🙂
