I actually think this makes spam bots easier?

Paying $100k / year for 100k accounts for a motivated entity is cheap, especially if these accounts will now have a strong not-a-bot signal

$1-gate should work overall but he’s got a point. Look how profitable spam email is for the unscrupulous few. $100k, $1 mil or whatever may be worth it for some spam entities to pay for X# accounts and own the spam market.  Will be interesting see play out.
