I just learned that if you accept the meeting in Outlook, but do it without sending a receipt back, it still shows you as being tentative. I always used to accept without sending the receipt because I didn't want to drown people's inboxes with receipt notices. Someone was complaining that I never responded to meeting invites, and I was thinking I responded every single time.
