What is it with services only working with Gmail? Is it an engineering challenge? Does Google process the emails in a way that they can offer devs a nice API with pre-processed data? What's the difference between this button and just connecting like a mail client?

My 2 cents: Gmail has the best delivery stats because SMTP is now a closed protocol Also /engineering is probably the wrong place for this kind of question, as it leans more not-software, try /dev ?
