🌶️ 🌶️ Warpcast and Jam now offer 2 alternative yet compelling Farcaster user experiences - Wc is better suited for longtime users and members of clubs like Purple, attendees of Farcon - Jam is better suited for new users, with better/more discovery and search @v @dwr.eth would be great... longcast.jam.so/jjmnto

Our top priority is 100% permissionless protocol and we pushing to get there as soon as possible. At that point, new users can start with Jam or any app. Agree we can improve the farcaster.xyz homepage to be more about discovery.

And you can actively promote the apps/devs building on the protocol

I think the team has been very good about promoting 3rd party apps - and the nature of this being a social app is that 3rd party apps can get distribution. I think the harsh truth here is that Warpcast is really great and the revealed preference of most users is to use it over Discove & Jam as a result.

I think the community will share when they love an app - and as a farcaster client you can get a lot of distribution and awareness by launching updates and engaging here - and those posts, particularly Jam’s have traditionally done very well (and have made it into Launchcaster & Warpcast weekly emails)

I completely disagree with this: "I think the team has been very good about promoting 3rd party apps - and the nature of this being a social app is that 3rd party apps can get distribution."

I have some different data. People who start using Jam continue using Jam. we have a very very high active user rate and retention rate relative to the overall wc active userbase
