a part of booking that I feel is under explored: understanding areas of a city/location and what its like - what is walkable what isn't, what's the vibe of this area? Is this area safe? is uber available around there?

sometimes I google dangerous areas, sometimes use hoodmaps, sometimes use google maps to try to understand distances and travel times (often hard to judge scale of a place), sometimes search for „acai bowls“ on google maps to see where the hipster areas are. Sometimes look at public transport connectivity

this problem also occurs with ski resorts - figuring out ski in/ski out (whether it actually will be), which lifts/slopes, whether the weather might close that slope
