Larry is more crowdfund vs lottery ticket in ux. it may be as simple as delayed gratification. with clanker, for example, the initial ups and downs encourage continued dev/marketing and can capture outsiders. onboarding contributors is super important; Larry ensures investors, but not necessarily contributors.

of course! it seems reasonable that different launch mechanics lead to different outcomes as far as who has skin in the game. ultimately though, it is up to the "founder" to do something with the idea in the early stages. i hate to get into roadmap territory but it seems a Larry might feel more like that type of project
