It's interesting that PG's "founder mode" has caught such fire Usually, I find myself really obsessed with these tech think-pieces that others love, but this one seems to miss me I wonder why that is? Perhaps because it's a piece of "talking about the thing" rather than just "doing the thing"? What do you think?

Definitely been seeing all the chatter about it. For most founders, it feels so obvious that I think it's less of a surprise or "insight" as we might expect from PG's usual manner of plainly stating something we might otherwise miss.

Good point This footnote was the most resonant part of the essay for me My bet is that the ones that best embody the good parts of what PG is talking about do it through action, not talk And that the ones that embody the worst parts do it through talk, not action

Definitely can see this becoming an excuse to be an a**hole. To me, Founder Mode isn't about setting unreasonable goals, it's about acknowledging the overwhelming nature of the majority of startup tasks and the rigor needed to take them down.
