Feelings check in. Marco headwinds, tech layoffs, interest rate uncertainty, ai. This being a founder thing doesnt get easier does it. How are we doing folks?

It’s weird because all of the variables you mention are serious headwinds, but hiring is in FULL swing in crypto. We’re seeing big projects and startups alike wanting to grow their teams, top talent looking to explore new roles and web2 devs wanting to move into web3. So overall, I’m pretty optimistic.

not sure how true this is considering Polygon just laid of 19% of its workforce. Maybe tide is turning

Sandeep and JD both posted threads on Twitter saying the recent round of layoffs were to spin off business units (Polygon Ventures and Polygon ID) and create a smaller, more agile team. Not for cost reduction. Frankly, I think this is true. Polygon increased headcount from 80 to almost 500 between 2022 and EO’23.
