genuine question: how did U2 become like the biggest band in the world (iTunes releases, Sphere residency, etc) when i (and a lot of people i ask) can’t really name more than two songs?

Keep in mind, too, that Edge redefined guitar playing with lots of delays, judicious use of distortion, and catchy riffs with a few strings. Coldplay taps into a lot of his guitar ethos.
