there's a lot to love about rainbow, but their lack of support for testnets is a non-starter for me.

Have you tested Ambire?  They integrate well with Grid+ so I wanted to test it but I’m so comfortable with Rabby/Zerion I’ve seen no need other than I just like trying new things.  So far I keep going back to Rabby on desk Zerion mobile.
