why does Warpcast insist on using impossible-to-scan QR codes for login? i just wasted 5 minutes on this. i can't see a reason why this much data is needed for a secure login process.

Genuinely curious -- do this QR code scan for you?

Works for me first try on 4 different test devices.

Maybe 1 in 100 times it works with no issue. 5 in a hundred I have to futz with it for 5 minutes. Rest of the time it fails completely. 

iPhone. Zero problems with other QR Codes.

Started experiencing problems with it during Farhack.
