Yeah I think the Flashbots use cases for things like private mempools etc make a ton of sense. 

Lets just give these things a better name like Isolated Verifiable Execution Environments. IVEE.

Neither trustless, nor trusted mean trustworthy. And so maybe we just drop the whole distracting notion of "trust."
